Rabbitt’s Thanksgiving Menu 2025
Hello again! Several people have asked me what I’m cooking up for Thanksgiving this year so I thought I would share my menu with you all!! I don’t have any great surprises and am sticking pretty much to a traditional menu. Maybe next year I will break out and go crazy serving a whole new menu!! Stay tuned…

If you happened to see my post from yesterday we are having just one (very special!) guest this year. Our good friend, Rudy Pina will join us on Thursday. We will start with:
SHRIMP LOUIS: https://cookwithcindy.com/2019/01/06/happy-epiphany/
This is from the old blog so if you want the recipe, you will need to COPY/PASTE. I got this one from my dear friend, Bonnie Ungerecht. She served it as a starter for one of her ‘over-the-top’ Christmas luncheons! It’s simply delicious and easy to put together!

I’ll also have some mixed nuts for nibbling. No recipe necessary. :-) I’m taking Ina Garten’s advice…She says, “One homemade hors’doeuvres is sufficient.”
Our main will include:
STUFFED TURKEY ROULADE: This time I am stuffing with a very herby bread stuffing and then making a Maple Mustard Glaze Infused with Orange Juice and Zest to baste the turkey breast. Recipe coming soon.

Thanksgiving 2013.
HOMEMADE GRAVY: https://cookwithcindy.com/2013/11/23/thanksgiving-tidings/
Also on the old blog so you will need to scroll down to get the recipe, COPY/PRINT. One of the things I love about this recipe is you can make it in advance. I will make ours tomorrow.
FRENCH GARLIC MASHED POTATOES: https://www.saveur.com/article/recipes/julia-childs-garlic-mashed-potatoes/ This is a Julia Child recipe and sounds totally decadent! I’m not sure I will use 30 cloves of garlic, but enough to make them garlicky.
CRANBERRY JELLY: https://cookwithcindy.com/2018/12/02/best-jellied-cranberry-sauce/

Thanksgiving 2018.
This is one of my favorite Cranberry Jelly recipes, and like the Do-Ahead Gravy, can be made in ahead of the big day.
ROASTED CARMELIZED PEARL ONIONS with PEAS
ALTON BROWN’S BUTTER FLAKE ROLLS: https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/butter-flake-rolls-recipe-1924032

I usually make a Parker House Roll for Thanksgiving, but my husband had a special request for a lighter, flakier roll. I sure hope mine look this good!
And, for dessert Rudy is bringing Zula’s famous APPLE PIE. I believe they serve with Vanilla Ice Cream, but I am making CINNAMON ICE CREAM to top our pie. I made the ice cream custard base yesterday and will freeze it later today. Recipe coming soon!

Zula’s Restaurant here in Nogales, AZ has been around since the 1950’s…

…and Rudy has been going there to eat since he was a young boy! To learn about their history, go to: https://thisistucson.com/eat/article_ce4c1f78-ad04-11ef-8175-b3e256a6e5fb.html
